Le fou <\/em>(The Fool) is a figurative textile artwork, a portrait of a Northern Gannet, and part of At a Glance<\/em> collection. Created by Christine Grenier, the piece begins with hand-dyed indigo fabric by the artist using the Shibori technique, chosen for its patterns that evoke the sea and its gentle undulations.     The first glance surprises. Its piercing blue eye holds my attention. Stern, almost intimidating, the Northern Gannet looks beyond me, scanning the indigo sea before its next dive. <\/span><\/p>\n

    In French, this seabird is called \u201cLe fou de Bassan\u201d, which literally means \u201cthe fool of Bassan.\u201d <\/span>The name comes from its daring, spectacular dives, inspiring the French title of this artwork, Le fou<\/em>. <\/span><\/p>\n
