The encounter with living things, real or imaginary, evoked through textile art, subtly guides us towards the unconscious, offering an inner journey that leads to self-discovery.
It all begins with an observation, a moment of contemplation, a look at the beauty of nature, an encounter with a subject, a memory of happiness captured, an inner impulse to materialize these moments. Over the years, Christine Grenier has explored traditional and contemporary techniques related to fabrics and fibers. A medium she knows intimately, it offers her both freedom and challenge in the creation of her works. The manual work, the repetitive gestures, and the time devoted to each detail, like embroidery, plunge the artist into a meditative state where time fades away. Through each work, an encounter takes shape: with gazes, with shapes, with the elements of nature, but also with the invisible, that which resides deep within us.
Little by little, major existential questions emerge in the course of her colorful assemblages: the way we look at our own life, the way we look at others, the way we look inward, the communication between living beings. The exhibition offers a silent dialogue between the visible and the invisible, the conscious and the unconscious, revealing hidden narratives and deep emotions. Visitors are invited to move from observation and contemplation to deeper introspection, questioning universal themes such as psychology and mental health.
