Forgotten Memories
Les jours heureux (Happy Days) is a unique textile artwork, created as part of the Forgotten Memories collection. Each piece begins with fabric hand-dyed by the artist, chosen for its vibrant variations. Christine uses a single piece of fabric for each work to preserve the richness and spontaneity of the colors.
Like a quilt, the piece is layered in three, with batting between the top and bottom fabrics. The quilting is done by machine in free motion, allowing the texture of the fabric to suggest abstract shapes and forms while enhancing movement and depth. This technique gives Les jours heureux a visual texture that makes the work vibrant and full of movement.
The rectangular composition, with its palette of deep pink, orange, blue, and yellow, evokes the carefree feeling of lying in a field of flowers, gazing at the sky as blossoms rise around you. Mounted on artist canvas, Les jours heureux is ready to hang and bring poetry and light to any space.
